Are you looking for a decorative heater for your home?
Ehrhart Energy offers hearth product solutions in many sizes and styles available from the world’s most trusted manufactures:
To a hearth dealer, a “fireplace” is an entire unit that goes in where there was once a blank wall.
You select a fireplace unit, a mantle and various trim and accessories. Costs vary widely because there are so many possible trim combinations. If you already have a fireplace, and are looking to convert it to gas, you’re probably more likely to need a fireplace insert or gas logs.
Wood-burning fireplaces send more than half their heat up the flue, creating negative pressure in your home, which draws cold outside air through the gaps in doors and windows, actually making your home colder. Wood fires also create sparks that can catch fire on carpet or varnished wood floors. They also create ash that can aggravate allergies.
These are some of the reasons why many families ultimately convert their wood-burning fireplaces to a propane gas insert solution.
These inserts commonly come in a direct-vent style, meaning your chimney serves as the ventilation system. Alternatively, we do offer a vent-free insert for smaller chimney areas.
Gas log sets consist of a burner and a set of ceramic or concrete logs. They don’t tend to look quite as realistic as a fireplace insert, but they are an excellent choice for value, at about half of a gas fireplace insert’s cost.
The beauty of an old-fashioned cast-iron stove cannot be beat and, with BTU ranges from 20,000 to 40,000, these stoves can create a lot of heat. In fact, even after the burner has shut off, the hot metal will continue to radiate heat throughout your home.
Most hearth products come in all three common venting styles: vent-free, natural vent and direct vent.
The venting style that suits you the best would depend on how you plan on using the heater, specifics of your space, local code requirements and availability.
